This study examines the dual roles of wives of early-morning vegetable traders in Pekalongan Market, Lampung Timur, in fulfilling family livelihood obligations according to Islamic law. The phenomenon reflects a socio economic reality where women contribute significantly to household income while upholding their domestic responsibilities. This research employed a qualitative approach with juridical-normative and sociological methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively-analytically to integrate Islamic legal perspectives with social realities. Findings show that wives engage in trading activities from early morning to supplement family income, motivated by economic needs, mutual cooperation with husbands, and personal fulfillment. Despite physical fatigue and time constraints, they manage domestic duties effectively. Community perception is generally positive, valuing their contribution as compatible with Islamic principles of nafkah and partnership in marriage. The dual role of these wives aligns with maqashid syariah, particularly in preserving family welfare. The study highlights the importance of flexible role-sharing within households while maintaining religious compliance.
